Located in Downtown Roanoke, VA, The Promissory Hotel redefines history as a former national bank transformed into a boutique hotel.

The goal of the brand identity was to marry the building's rich history with its modern amenities, while drawing on the binding power of "promises" once made here through promissory notes.

Whimsical yet refined, the identity features a hand-drawn wordmark, an ornate crest and two lions inspired by the building's original architecture. The modern wordmark and illustration style soften the classic feel of the crest, while ribbons entwine echoing a promise held.
